Today Doug Ford announced that an Ontario PC government would commit to keeping the Welland hospital open. Specifically, Doug Ford announced a planning grant to identify the important local services residents need at the Welland Hospital.
“It’s time for hallway health care in Ontario to come to an end and closing the Welland hospital would only make things worse. Keeping access to local high quality healthcare in Welland is key for seniors and the 100,000 people who rely on the hospital,” said Ford. “Our PC candidate April Jeffs and our team realize that getting local high quality health care will keep the people of Welland safe and healthy with the highest level of service they deserve.”
This afternoon, the Ontario PC Party launched meetthendp.ca to help introduce Ontario families to the real NDP.
While the NDP may claim they’re fighting for Ontario workers, the real NDP is run by radical downtown Toronto special interests. The team, which the NDP hopes will form the next government, includes anti-poppy activists, professional protesters, crusaders against mining jobs, and 9/11 truthers.
Doug Ford announced today that he will modernize the rules for selling beer and wine in Ontario by expanding points of sale, based on consumer demand and on what’s more convenient for consumers.
“Today, I am pleased to announce that, if elected on June 7, our government will expand the sale of beer and wine into corner stores, box stores and grocery stores all across our province,” stated Ford. “As we approach the Victoria Day Weekend, it is time to acknowledge that Ontario is mature enough for this change and ready join other jurisdictions in making life a little more convenient.”
An Ontario PC Government would also withdraw from the bad deal that the Wynne Liberals negotiated with foreign multinational beer corporations and instead encourage a level playing field where retail options are based on local demand as opposed to government decree.
Under Doug Ford’s Plan for the People, an Ontario PC Government will invest in 15,000 new long-term care beds in five years and 30,000 new beds over the next 10 years, invest $1.9 billion over 10 years in mental health, addictions and housing supports, and provide dental care to low-income seniors.
Ford contrasted his commitment to frontline health care to the out-of-control spending, scandals and waste that have defined Kathleen Wynne’s mismanagement of the health care system. Over the last 15 years the total number of Assistant Deputy Ministers at the Ministry of Health has grown from six to 21.
Doug Ford today announced the latest Ontario PC measure that will help small business owners create good jobs.
“If you’ve spent time in almost any town in Ontario — you know that small businesses are the lifeblood of their communities,” said Ford. “But small business owners can’t afford to hire expensive lobbyists and they are too busy working to go to fancy receptions and network with Liberal insiders. So, it’s no surprise that Kathleen Wynne has forgotten that small businesses even exist.”
Ontario voters are looking for change after 15 years of Liberal governments gouging the taxpayer. Rightfully so, Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals have driven our province – once the economic engine of Canada – into have-not status. Job-killing Liberal policies cost our province more than 300,000 manufacturing jobs, and the Liberals have more than doubled our debt.
When Ontario voters look to hit the reset button, they need to think about what kind of change they’re going to get. Compared to the Liberals, the NDP are going to be ten times worse.CONTINUE READING

“These are real savings that will lower the cost of filling-up your car and leave more money in your pocket, while at the same time supporting families and businesses by keeping the costs of goods and services low,” said Ford. “Ours is the only Party that understands that gas is an absolute necessity that not only gets people around, but also fuels our economy.”CONTINUE READING
